The Sacramental life of the children of the Catholic faith is an important component of the religion/theology program at Mount Carmel School.
In accordance with diocesan guidelines, candidates for First Holy Communion will receive the sacrament of Reconciliation prior to First Holy Communion.
Parents are required to be active partners in the preparation of their children for these sacraments. Sacraments of Reconciliation or Communion may be given from their own parish however, certification should be provided from the parish on the sacrament received.
What is First Holy Communion in the Catholic Church?
The First Holy Communion is a Catholic ceremony, which marks a child or adult's first reception of the Sacrament of the Eucharist. It is an extremely important event in a Catholic family's life and is marked with celebrations, family gatherings and festive parties as well as gift-giving and special white clothes.

Boys: White long sleeve shirt with black pants, black bow tie, black shoes and socks
Girls: White dress that goes below the knee (no bareback, spaghetti straps or no gloves) with white veil, white shoes, white socks or stockings.

What is Confirmation in the Catholic Church?
The Sacrament of Confirmation is the supernatural equivalent of the growth process on the natural level. It builds on what was begun in Baptism and what was nourished in Holy Eucharist.
