Mount Carmel offers a variety of elective courses for a student to partake in. This allows the student to grow in different skills that are an important aspect of life. 

Available Courses:

Creative Writing
-The Creative Writing course encourages students to move beyond their usual styles and topics of writing in order to communicate clearly, express themselves, develop innovative skills, and entertain and share human experience. Students are provided opportunities to develop their own original works, all while having fun and expanding their imagination. 

Introduction to Media Communications
-Introduction to Media and Communications challenges students to achieve the schools first and sixth Expected School-wide Learning Results (ESLR): Communicate effectively using various methods and mediums, and develop continually as an independent lifelong learner. By the end of this course, student's will be able to list and distinguish between different mediums and types of communication; identify and define the different purposes for communication; explain how psychology, sociology, and theories of rhetoric affect communications; evaluate diverse sources of communication for their effectiveness; operate various technology to design and deliver communications, and utilize diverse mediums to create effective communications. 

Senior Seminar
-Mount Carmel's Senior Seminar aims to prepare high school students for life during and after high school by intriducing students to curriculum that will help them become competitive and successful in both academic and employment worlds. Along the way, students will be encouraged to and guided to pursue their interests and explore careers that not only match those interests but are also meaningful and fulfilling. 

Financial Literacy
-As students prepare to lead and live productive lifestyles, Mount Carmel School offers a financial literacy course that teach students how to understand and use various financial skills. This course will cover an array of topics including personal financial management, budgeting, and investing.
